The Infrastructure Security Partnership will have its second annual Congress of Infrastructure Security for the Built Environment in Washington D.C. Sept. 16-18 at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill.
Architects, contractors, engineers and other industry professionals will gather to discuss the security of the country’s built infrastructure. The event will be held in conjunction with the Associated General Contractor’s annual Midyear Legislative and Regulatory Conference.
Approximately 30 sessions will be devoted to security, with topics including threat identification and assessment, security and design considerations, risk management, fire protection, natural disasters, blast design/blast mitigation, transportation systems security and liability and insurance issues. Speakers will include Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge, Sen. Thad Cochran, R-Miss., and Rep. Jim Turner, D-Texas. Attendees can earn up to 12 professional development hours or AIA/CES learning units by attending. To receive hours or credit, forms will be available at the event.
