The TwinSplit wood-splitter attachment from MDS makes short work of splitting billets up to 24 inches in diameter. The unit’s two-position function permits operation from inside or outside the machine. The attachment’s design allows it to be pivoted 90 degrees. In the vertical position, good for splitting large, heavy billets, the moving wedge is on top of the unit and the stationary plate rests on the ground. In the horizontal position, ideal for smaller billets, the entire unit pivots, with the stationary plate and wedge pointing frontwards.
The steel splitting wedge is activated by a 3,000-psit, tie-rod cylinder with a 4-inch bore and 2-inch rod diameter.
