Western-style boot manufacturer Tecovas has released the latest extension of its work boot lineup with a focus on keeping workers cool during hot days.
The square- and soft-toe LongHaul Waterproof Work Boot features cooling Temp Control material by Kulkote. The inside of the cowhide boot is lined with the cooling material designed to manage heat and improve comfort yet remain durable.
Along with also being waterproof, other features of the boot include a removable footbed; muckoff tread; and rubber and dual-density outsole. The boot has earned two safety ratings: Electrical Hazard ASTM F2413-24 EH and Oil and Slip Resistant ASTM F2413-24 SR.
The release of the soft-toe LongHaul Work Boot brings the total number of available Tecovas work boots to four base models.
I received a sample pair of the boots from Tecovas for testing and found the cooling material did make a difference during long periods in hot outdoor conditions. The interior is cool to the touch, and while it doesn’t keep the wearer’s feet “cool” necessarily, it does lower the overall temperature of the wearer’s feet when compared to other boots.
For workers in very hot conditions who can afford to forego the protection of a steel- or composite-toe boot, this editor considers these boots a notable candidate for all-day wear.

The Tecovas LongHaul Waterproof Square Soft Toe Work Boots with Temp Control retail for $265 and can be purchased here. A composite toe version without the cooling material can be found here.
