Stressing the heavy influence performance had on the design of its latest sedan, GM unveiled the 2014 Chevy SS at Daytona Motor Speedway over the weekend. Chevy calls the SS design “muscular,” boasting the car’s low stance and pronounced fender flares as well as the  aluminum 19-inch x 8.5-inch front wheels and 19-inch x 9-inch wheels in back.

Under the hood,  the SS packs a 415-horsepower 6.2L V8 engine, a 6-speed automatic transmission with TAPshift and StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control. GM says the traction of the SS’s limited slip rear differential allows the sedan to reach 60 mph in 5 seconds.

The SS also features keyless entry and push-button start as well as the very cool hand-free Automatic Parking Assist which GM says allows the car to “virtually park itself.”

The 2014 SS will hit dealers late in the year. Pricing hasn’t yet been announced.
