The new excavators deliver fuel savings of 9.2 and 17.5 percent, respectively, when compared with previous B Series models even though operating weight has been increased by 3,659 and 2,677 pounds.
Delivering 100 and 160 net horsepower via Tier 4 interim engines, the excavators offer a number of performance improvements. The CX145C SR has 4-percent faster cycle times and a 9 percent increase in lift capacity, while the CX235C SR features a 7-percent faster cycle time and a 15 percent lift capacity increase.
Three power modes–speed priority, heavy duty and automatic–ensure the operator can choose the best mix of power and fuel efficiency for the task at hand. The machines feature Case’s Intelligent Hydraulic System that boosts fuel savings while managing the engine and hydraulics. An automatic power boost adds power for heavy breakout and lifting requirements.
Maintenance is streamlined through improved access to components and lubrication points, and wide service panels speed routine maintenance tasks. Oil change intervals have been extended to 500 hours, hydraulic oil change intervals are 5,000 hours and bushings have greasing intervals of 1,000 hours.
Case has also made improvements to the cabs, with 6 percent more space, 28 percent more airflow and 20 percent better air conditioning performance within the cab.
The machine’s low profile offers 32 percent better visibility, and the cab also has a new roof skylight. Additional features include a high definition camera, non-glare monitor, noise reduction and more.
