Komatsu is beginning a three-year restructuring of its North American mining, construction and utility manufacturing operations, the company said last week. Komatsu is re-evaluating its North American manufacturing operations in light of declining demand worldwide for equipment in the construction, mining and utility markets. According to a press release, the new restructuring will align Komatsu America Corp. with its parent company’s “Spirits of Manufacturing” global policy of developing and manufacturing competitive products and services on a global basis.
