Ditch Witch has unveiled a new line of walk-behind trenchers, the CX-Series, which are equipped with the company’s new patent-pending CX Track system. This system uses a short left track and longer right track, which Ditch Witch says gives the machine better traction and shorter overall length, thus allowing superior maneuverability in tight spaces.

In addition, the company’s C-Series walk-behind trenchers have an offset, rear-tire design that gives the machines balanced traction and stability.

The six models in the company’s C- and CX-Series include the C12, C14, C16, C16X, C24X and C30X trenchers, and dig a depths between 24 and 48 inches. The lineup uses either the Ditch Witch 35K digging system or the company’s new OptiCut digging system.

The OptiCut system, using an all-in-one chain design, features integrated tooth technology designed to ease maintenance. The design matches the life of the chain by eliminating one-by-one tooth replacement.

Designed for depths of up to 36 inches deep and 3.5 inches wide, the system uses a low-profile tooth design for a smoother cut and less wear on the chain. It also has an oversized roller design, which Ditch Witch says reduces friction and boosts the horsepower available for digging.

The compact design of both the C and CX Series trenchers also offers better visibility of the workstation, and redesigned, ergonomic controls.
