JCB’s next-generation backhoes have arrived, boasting fast travel speeds, a new outer box dipper option for the excavator end and a redesigned, operator-focused cab.
JCB Product Manager James Gill gave Equipment World a closer look at the new 3CX Plus earlier this year at ARA Show. Take a tour in our video above.
The 3CX Plus comes with a 109-horsepower 4.4-liter engine that puts out 381 pound-feet of torque at 1,500 rpms. It can hit travel speeds of 25 mph for quick roading between jobsites.
The center-mount backhoe features JCB’s new outer box material handling dipper stick and thumb for improved grabbing power and weight distribution.
The redesigned cab features a 7-inch display, an additional easy-to-read front screen, Bluetooth connectivity, ergonomic joystick controls, lockable storage compartments and improved visibility through larger mirrors and rear- and front-mounted LED work lights. A variety of front-end attachments are available, and a Q-Fit quick coupler allows for fast attachment swaps.
