Diamond Mowers is expanding beyond attachments with the release of its new DM360 and DM360X municipal maintenance machines.
The multifunction attachment carrier looks like a wheeled excavator with a boom mower and is designed to give municipalities and contractors “a safer, more versatile, all-seasons solution” for roadside mowing, snow removal, sweeping and other seasonal tasks.
Diamond Mowers says it designed the boom system, attachments, operator interface, hydraulic integration, safety package and overall machine configuration to optimize the carrier for attachments. The underlying carrier is sourced from a third-party manufacturer.
Diamond Mowers told Equipment World the DM360 and DM360X are “a Diamond-engineered solution in terms of how the systems work together, how the attachments are powered and controlled and how the machine is optimized for mowing applications.”
Both models are available in 25- or 30-foot boom lengths, with up to two hydraulic lines available. Compatible Diamond Mower boom attachments include the Boom Rotary Mower, Boom Flail Mower, Boom Drum Mulcher DC Pro X, Boom Disc Mulcher, Boom Saw Head, Boom Ditcher and a universal tiltrotator.
A rotating cab on the DM360 and DM360X provides 360-degree visibility and clear sightlines, while excavator-style joystick controls allow for intuitive operation, the company says.
Advanced features such as joystick steering, all-wheel steer and left-hand mowing capabilities simplify roadside mowing, allowing crews to work more efficiently and safely while staying aligned with the flow of traffic, reducing risk and boosting productivity.
With 42 inches of cable rail clearance, the machine can reach over standard 31-inch guard rails for ditch and waterway vegetation management.

You know, this thing is so versatile from from snow removal to vegetation maintenance to just street maintenance. The possibilities are endless with this machine, so we aren't trying to just market it to one person. There's a lot of different people that this machine fits. All in all.

We're coming out here with DM 316, starting off with kind of our lower portion of the M3, 60 x 40 gallons a minute, 4000 psi skid steer attached so you can run basically any attachment. There's presets on a screen inside the cab. Also levers to be able to actuate it specifically with the drum mulch, or you're going to want to be able to follow the ground and contour.
00:00:46:07 - 00:01:03:08
Jordan Hagena
You can do that with one hand. Keep the other hand on the steering wheel. As we look this way we have a we have two boom options. So we have a 30ft and a 25ft option here. Right now shown is the 30ft with a 39 inch telescoping section. And at the bottom of it we also have some more options that come with it.
00:01:03:10 - 00:01:21:23
Jordan Hagena
We have a tilt rotator that's pictured on it. Tilt rotator offers 270 degrees of rotation for your head. Ultimately, what that means is productivity. So imagine you're out mowing. You're going one direction. You can flip that head around, do another pass in reverse so you don't have to back up. That's the whole the whole purpose for the productivity side.
00:01:21:27 - 00:01:44:02
Jordan Hagena
And then for the tilt on this is to be able to follow the contour of the ground. Obviously, you know, there's there's different changing contours as you're going back and forth. So that tilt offers 45 degrees in both directions. So from this side so what we looked at was the rear of the machine. So again you can run sweepers whatever you pick your poison for attachment from this side.
00:01:44:02 - 00:02:03:27
Jordan Hagena
The beauty of this machine is everything is serviceable from the ground. So on this side here we have progressive step entry. And then also we have a tool storage under behind that that door there. So you can keep your grease guns or any tools that you might need on the road. In addition to that, that's where all your, your def your fuel.
00:02:03:27 - 00:02:24:00
Jordan Hagena
And then there's, there's grease points in there as well as your batteries. There's also an isolator if need be for the end of the workweek. So this whole thing spins 360 degrees. That's the beauty of this this product. It's so versatile from every angle. Most other, you know, the traditional tractor boom mowers, you're kind of stuck at that 90 degrees just perpendicular to the tractor.
00:02:24:00 - 00:02:44:26
Jordan Hagena
This that knows no bounds. So you can spin around all you need servicing trees up top or just picking up some vegetation from the bottom. So you'll notice here these wheels are turned. There's there's three steering modes. So you've got all wheel steer two wheel steering crab steer to suit your needs. Crab steer. Some of the guys have asked, you know, hey, why would I use that?
00:02:45:02 - 00:03:05:22
Jordan Hagena
Typically that's for a stable exit out of like a ditch or something like that. For wheel steer, it turns within a 15ft diameter. So it's really tight. It's very versatile that way. And then what you see up front here is the the stabilizer. So what we hear time and time again is, you know, hey we want more stability, more stability.
00:03:05:26 - 00:03:23:22
Jordan Hagena
This helps give you that. So you lock in those stabilizers. You do your workout off to the side. And then we have about 4,000 pounds of counterweight on the back side to help offset that as well. And so as I said, you know, everything's serviceable from from the waistline basically. So the engine sits right here. It also acts as a nice counterweight.
00:03:23:22 - 00:03:45:20
Jordan Hagena
When you're out working on the other side, you have your your cooler clean out. Everything can be touched here. Fuel filter, oil filter. So really just pop up that that cover and everything's accessible from the ground. There's also a 12 volt source if you need a light or whatever. What have you. It's just a 12 volt adapter underneath the cover.
00:03:45:23 - 00:04:06:02
Jordan Hagena
So controls all right here at your fingertips, a really cool feature of this machine. You see the steering wheel, but there's also what's called joystick steer. So my right or my left index finger. Here you're able to not have to take your hand off of doing work. You're able to steer and go down the road, which also just helps productivity, right?
00:04:06:03 - 00:04:23:13
Jordan Hagena
A lot of times you're having to do this. This Joyce exteriors a game changer. In addition to that, all your other controls, your axle stabilizers. As I mentioned before, there's some other cool features that are just right at your fingertips at all times. This machine also has two work modes, so there's this like a sight mode. And then there's a highway mode.
00:04:23:13 - 00:04:42:05
Jordan Hagena
So sight mode goes up to about 12 mile an hour. And then highway mode will go up to about 23 mile an hour. The beauty of being able to be see your work is there's no less fatigue that way. So you're constantly doing this. You can you can steer the machine and look at the work at the whole time.
00:04:42:13 - 00:05:04:23
Jordan Hagena
Yes, there's AC, so your own HVAC, just like any other cab machine, would have radio behind me. And there's some features on this, this button pack that allows you to quickly mute if you need Bluetooth enabled so you don't have to sit there and do this seven inch display that is accustomed to us. So we have our own features built into that.
00:05:04:25 - 00:05:29:02
Jordan Hagena
A few little diamond accents in here, and then just a lot of the typical features you'd see your work lights, safety light options, beacon options, and then up top you'll have a guard in case you're living. You don't have to worry about it. We got a level two FOBs guard for it front inside our poly half inch polycarbonate, so know that you're safe there while you're working.
00:05:29:03 - 00:05:49:03
Jordan Hagena
One other neat feature is, just as I said, is the whole cab spins 360 degrees. But how do you do transport mode? Well, you take this boom and you put it back in this travel rest and no worries, you just go down the road. So this this isn't impacting your visibility at all. As you're going down the road for this 30 footer, you have your controls here that are typical to an excavator.
00:05:49:03 - 00:06:06:23
Jordan Hagena
So primary secondary you have your foot throttle and break down on the right. And then on the left you use that to telescope the boom in and out. So again just trying to keep everything real close. No extra buttons over here that you have to look for. It's all right at your fingertips and at your feet.
