Tigercat has introduced its lightest-weight track carriers yet, with the new H820 Harvester and 820 Feller Buncher.
The lighter weight, lower-capacity boom sets on the 820 Series require less counterweight, reducing the overall weight of the machine for improved fuel efficiency and track life.
A 284-horsepower Tigercat FPT N67 Tier 4 Final diesel engine powers the machines. Both models weigh 57,500 pounds and offer a tight tuck boom system, ideal for small diameter timber and thinning applications.
H820 Harvester
The H820 Harvester is equipped with a 33-foot conventional boom system, which pairs with Tigercat’s TCi 544 harvesting head.
The long-reach boom reduces the number of times operators need to reposition the machine for reduced fuel consumption and track wear, while the compact upper assembly and tight tuck boom geometry minimize residual stand damage and soil compaction.
The combination of high horsepower and harvester-head optimized hydraulics provides the operator with responsive control, quick feeding and powerful delimbing capabilities, the company says.
Inside the cab, operators will find:
- A fully adjustable air-ride seat with ergonomic armrest mounted controls.
- Full-length front windows and Skyview and Rearview camera systems for all-around visibility to the jobsite.
- A large color touchscreen display with a machine control system interface.
- A quiet interior environment with Bluetooth audio and hands-free calling.
The H820’s TCi D7 Control system enables two types of bucking control. The priority-based bucking logic uses a list of operator-entered log specification sizes to determine how to best process the tree, while the TCi D7 uses value-based bucking logic to correlate price, demand and production limits to each log size under each tree species.

820 Feller Buncher
Matched to the TCi 540 felling saw, the 820 Feller Buncher is best suited for selective felling and high-cycle small stem felling applications such as row thinning. It is equipped with a lighter ER boom with less lift capacity compared to the 822E.
ER technology on the tight tuck boom allows the operator to actuate the boom with optimal hydraulic efficiency, as well as extend and retract on a horizontal plane quickly and smoothly with a single joystick.
The cab also includes an adjustable parallel-action, air-ride seat with integrated heating and cooling for full-shift comfort.
Serviceability
Both 820 Series models feature a clamshell-style retracting roof enclosure for wide-open access to the engine house. Daily service points are grouped under a swing-down door on the right side of the machine.
The 820 series machines will be marketed under the TCi brand in Europe.
