RoadHog is now offering the G5HD skid steer cold planer, a lower-cost, more flexible alternative than dedicated milling machines, according to the company.
The model features a Fairfield 7HBX planetary coupled to a Sauer M44 piston motor. It has a 0-to-8 inch cutting depth, 3/4-inch chassis and housing plate, a 1.5-inch walled cutting drum, and a 5-inch tooth clearance for reduced drag. The unit’s overall weight is an average of 20% higher than the company’s standard model, which RoadHog says helps reduce vibration, improve productivity and extend component life.
The attachment is available in cutting widths of 18, 24, 30, 40 and 48 inches. A drum wall thickness of 1.5-inch on the G5HD leads to longer drum life and additional weight over the center of the cut.
