John L. Garrison, Jr., chairman and CEO, Terex will assume leadership of Terex Aerial Work Platforms following the Aug. 1 departure of Matt Fearon, the current AWP president.
A 25-year veteran of Terex and its Genie brand, Fearon served in several roles, including vice president of operations and general manager of the company’s Americas division.
“We thank Matt Fearon for his many contributions to Terex,” Garrison says. “Matt has been a dynamic and much-admired leader who helped Genie grow from a regional brand to a global powerhouse.”
Simon A. Meester, AWP vice president, global sales and marketing administration has been promoted to chief operating officer, Terex Aerials. Meester and Clint Weber, general manager of Terex Utilities will both report directly to Garrison.
Meester joined Terex in 2018 from Eaton, where he was vice president and general manager of the Industrial Control Division. Earlier, he spent 14 years in progressively senior roles at Caterpillar before becoming president of Sandvik Mining and Construction in India. He has managed global teams and operations for 20 years, based in seven countries, including eight years in the United States.
