Boss Snowplow acquired the Snowrator brand last year and has redesigned the stand-on sidewalk snowplow and de-icer, designed to save contractors money by replacing the need for hand shovels.
Boss has added a 4-foot hydraulic snowplow and 20-inch polyethylene skin. The company says it also improved the electrical and plow attachment systems. It can now handle all Boss ATV plow accessories and common parts.
“Our customers can rely on the redesigned Snowrator to provide clean and clear sidewalks for metro, commercial and residential jobs,” says Mark Klossner, marketing vice president for Boss Snowplow. “And Snowrators don’t call in sick or need time off. It’s a dependable labor solution in tough winter weather.”
The Snowrator features both pretreatment and de-icing capabilities with a standard 20-gallon pre-treatment brine system. A 20-gallon auxiliary brine tank is optional, as well as two de-icing solid material spreaders.
The chassis on the redesigned Snowrator provides greater puncture protection for the standard brine tank, and the rear plate can be removed for easier maintenance and tank access. Rear fenders and splashguards protect the operator from slush, salt, snow and other debris. Boss also added weather and corrosion protection to the electrical components.
The Snowrator’s hydraulic lever control makes the device easy to maneuver with zero turn radius. It also features four-wheel drive. It has LED working lights.
The rear reference bar gives the operator additional hand-hold support, and the front reference bar is notched to prevent the bar from slipping and offers a method for limiting vehicle speed.
The controller for the fully potted broadcast spreader provides onboard diagnostics for troubleshooting and easier operation.
An available option is Boss’ Exact Path 1.5-cubic-foot drop spreader designed to precisely distribute salt at the optimum width and pattern, minimize damage to turf and reduce salt contact with the plow attachment system.
Other accessories for the Snowrator include plow wing extensions, material carrying trays, plow box wings, shovel mounting brackets, a urethane cutting edge and 5-gallon bucket mounts.
