General Motors has issued a recall on certain 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon midsize pickups.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, nearly 3,000 pickups are at risk of a loss of power steering assist due to a poor electrical connection within the steering gear connector.
The affected Colorado trucks were manufactured between Jan. 6 and March 17, 2015 while the Canyon models were manufactured between Jan. 6 and March 19, 2015.
GM says it will notify owners of the vehicles though it has not released a notification schedule. GM dealers will replace the steering gear pinion sensor cover assembly on the trucks free of charge.
