JCB used the American Rental Association show this week to debut its compact 525-60 Hi-Viz loader, designed to offer the performance of a full-size telehandler within a compact footprint.
“It’s just 5 feet 10 inches wide, and 6 feet 3 inches tall, which gives you the ability to maneuver in confined areas,” says Stuart Fox, JCB Loadall product specialist. “We’ve made it more compact while keeping the power.”
Featuring a side engine mount, the machine has a low-boom pivot point for increased visibility to the rear of the machine and across its boom.
Powered by a Tier 4 Final JCB Diesel by Kohler four-cylinder engine, the 525-60 has a maximum lift height of 20 feet and a load capacity of 5,500 pounds. It replaces three rear engine models, the 524-50, 527-55 and the 520-50.
A single servo-control joystick controls all of the two-stage boom functions, And for the first time, JCB is offering a solid tire option on the unit. The two-speed hydrostatic transmission offers speeds up to 16 mph; a 21-gpm hydraulic pump delivers auxiliary hydraulic power for a sideshift attachment carriage.
Users can opt for JCB’s Q-fit carriage, compact tool carrier or a universal skid steer compatible coupler.
