Volvo CE meets increased demand with investment program

Volvo Construction Equipment has announced a $55 million package of investments for manufacturing facilities in Braas and Eskilstuna, Sweden, and Asheville, North Carolina, to satisfy demand for articulated haulers, excavators and component production, as well as reduce customer lead times.

The Braas facility will see 25 percent more articulated haulers produced by 2007, increasing output to 4,000 machines with the help of the investment program. About 100 new employees will be recruited to deal with the additional output.

Investments will also be directed at increasing the output of Volvo CE’s cab factory in Hallsberg, Sweden, in addition to the other Swedish facilities, with a particular focus on boosting transmission systems production.
