Terex sells large wheel loader line to German manufacturer Atlas Maschinen

atlasterexTerex has sold all intellectual properties of its large wheel loader line to German manufacturer Atlas Maschinen, according to a report from KHL. The price of the deal was not disclosed.

The deal includes the TL160, TL210, TL260 and TL310. Atlas Maschinen has said it will continue the manufacturing of the machines under both the existing Terex brand and under its Kaelble/Atlas brand. Atlas said Terex dealers will continue to sell the machines “unless other arrangements were made.”

Terex hasn’t manufactured these machines since April of this year. Atlas will begin its production of the machines at its Ganderkesee, Germany plant in the last quarter of this year.

A Terex spokesman told KHL that the sale “is an important step forward in the restructuring process of Terex Construction and our compact construction businesses in Germany.”

“Terex Corporation will now focus on expansion and investment in our core business of mini- and midi- excavators and compact wheeled-loaders,” the spokesman said.
