Trimble to buy Pacific Crest, names CFO

Trimble announced Dec. 21 it has agreed to acquire privately held Pacific Crest Corporation, a supplier of wireless data communication systems for positioning and environmental monitoring applications. Pacific Crest, located in Santa Clara, Calif., makes radio modems that provide a data link that increases GPS accuracy. Trimble said it expects the acquisition to enhance its wireless data communications capabilities in its engineering and construction business segment.

The company has also named Rajat Bahri chief financial officer. Bahri has more than 15 years of experience in a broad range of finance roles at Kraft Foods and General Foods. He will be responsible for Trimble’s worldwide finance operations, including accounting, external reporting, tax, treasury and investor relations. Mark Harrington, who has served as interim CFO, will return to his role as vice president of strategy and business development upon Bahri’s start date in mid-January. At Kraft, Bahri worked in a variety of senior finance roles, most recently as chief financial officer for Kraft Canada.
