Manitowoc Crane Group has presented plans to restructure its Manlift aerial work platform businesses, which will be exclusively focused on vertical mast products. The restructuring plan includes: discontinuing U.S. Manlift production at the Shady Grove, Pa., facility; discontinuing the scissor-lift and boom-lift product segments and closing the Liftlux facility in Dillingen, Germany; developing the remaining Toucan vertical mast segment and marketing its products under the Manlift brand and the Toucan product name in Europe; and continuing to provide aftermarket parts and service support for the discontinued product lines through Manitowoc CraneCare. Works council representatives in Europe are reviewing the plan.
