Drivers in the Sacramento, California, area have a new tool to help them navigate the maze of busy freeways, including tips on how to merge and more easily find exits, Caltrans says.
As part of two Senate-Bill-1-funded striping projects in Sacramento, 65 shield pavement markings were installed on the roadway to help drivers easily know which lane to be in when merging from one freeway to another.
In this Caltrans News Flash, check out how the shield decals were placed like puzzle pieces on the freeway, see what the finished product looks like, and head drivers interviewed about how they like the navigational guides.
Half of SB 1’s funding goes to the state, which has already begun making critical improvements to highways throughout California.
