PennDOT asks residents for help in attacking potholes on state roadways

Updated Apr 9, 2015

potholeThe Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is asking motorists to report potholes and other “roadway concerns” by calling it’s toll-free hotline 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623).

PennDOT says the hotline “connects callers directly to their respective county maintenance office, and that a call “will result in prompt action and a telephone follow-up if the caller leaves their name and telephone number.”

To better assist PennDOT in address the issues, callers are asked to provide as much detail about the pothole locations such as the State Route, section number, and travel direction.

1-800-FIX ROAD has been available for several years, and in addition to report potholes can be used to identify should and drainage concerns, signage issues, brush and tree removal, animal carcass removal, and for receiving general information and â€ścomplaints and compliments.”
