Equipment and signs stolen from construction site in S.C.

bildePolice are searching for the thief, or thieves, who stole construction equipment and signs from the side of Interstate 585 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation says five batteries for large directional signs used to direct traffic in the construction zone were stolen. Wires on four of the signs had been cut when the batteries were taken. A battery charger was also stolen.

The local police department currently has no leads in the investigation.

Stealing from the Department of Transportation is never a very smart thing to do. A NJDOT worker faces 10 years in prison and a huge fine after stealing gas. It’s safe to assume the person/people involved in this most recent thievery face  a big fine and some time to reflect in prison.
