Details are scarce surrounding the death of a construction worker in Dallas last week.
According to a report from CBS Dallas-Fort Worth, a worker at an apartment complex still under construction fell to his death Thursday morning.
Emergency workers told the site that the worker fell from “a higher floor of the four-story Maple District Lofts complex. When paramedics arrived just before 7:30 a.m., they found the worker dead.
Work at the site was suspended for the day.
According to a report from NBC Dallas-Fort Worth, the worker was identified as 44-year-old Jorge Carrion Torres. The cause of his fall is still under investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
Falls are the leading cause of death in the construction industry, with hundreds of workers dying each year and thousands more facing serious injuries.
