Focusing on tractor and equipment safety, Kubota is tapping into the National Safety Council’s (NSC) annual celebration of National Safety Month this June. This is the 12th anniversary of National Safety Month. This year’s National Safety Month theme is “Make A Difference.”
The NSC has designated a specific safety focus for each of the four weeks in June. June 2-6 will center on Emergency Preparedness, June 9-13 will concentrate on Reducing Distracted Driving, June 16-20 will cover Poisoning Prevention, and June 23-27 will observe Falls Prevention.
Kubota is also asking tractor owners to check the serviceability of the Rollover Protection Structures (ROPS) and seatbelts installed on their tractors. Kubota encourages owners of pre-1985 Kubota tractors to have their local Kubota dealer retrofit older tractors with a seatbelt and ROPS to improve the safety of an operator in the event of a rollover.
“We strongly recommend the use of a ROPS and a seatbelt to create a safety zone that may reduce chances of serious injury in the case of a rollover accident,” says Greg Embury, vice president of sales and marketing.
