The owners of a Florida auto business agreed to pay $850,000 in penalties after being hit with federal violations for selling equipment designed to override diesel emission systems.

In a recent agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the owners of Punch It Performance and Tuning agreed to pay the fine, stop manufacturing and selling emissions defeat devices and stop offering customer support for any of the more than 20,000 DPF and EGR delete tuners the Deltona company sold.

Punch It was also required to surrender the computer code used in defeating OEM emissions equipment, according to The Daytona Beach News-Journal.
