A seat belt issue has led Ford to recall certain 2019 Ranger SuperCab pickups.
Seat belts in the front passenger seats of 7,579 trucks may have been improperly installed. Ford reports that passengers are at risk of not being adequately restrained in the event of a crash.
Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the right front seat belt assembly, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin July 29, 2019. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford’s number for this recall is 19S23.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov. Refer to NHTSA campaign number 19V518000.
