CarAdvice in Australia has snapped spy photos of a Ford Ranger prototype that it’s calling the Ford Ranger Raptor.
Keep in mind that Ford registered two trademark names in Australia: Ranger Raptor and Ranger FX4. Ranger is expected to return next year as a 2019 model.
CarAdvice reports seeing and hearing a camo-wrapped Ranger with an increased ride height, flared wheel arches, a trimmed front end and offroad tires. The truck reportedly sounds like it’s powered by an EcoBoost 3.5-liter engine.
Some of the shots are blocked by tree limbs, but it’s still worth visiting the site to take a look. Keep in mind that Australians refer to trucks as utes.
