Mecum Auctions will be presenting roughly 600 classic cars, trucks and motorcycles for sale June 16-17 in Portland, Oregon.
Last year’s inaugural Mecum Portland auto auction attracted vehicles from 17 states with total sales reaching more than $9.3 million.
Looking over the lot list it doesn’t take long to find some trucks and an odd duck or two that’ll catch your eye, including a 1937 Chevy pickup, 1953 GMC Canopy Express and 1966 Ford F-100.
The ’37 Chevy has a black patina finish and features a rebuilt Thrift Master 140 paired up with a 3-speed transmission. An all-steel body rests on a rebuilt frame. No word on whether the early 20th century Harley Davidson motorcycle shown in the bed comes with the truck.
The ’53 GMC Canopy Express is a cool predecessor to today’s van. This example serves as a portable vegetable stand complete with sorting bins and a flip-out scale.
The ’66 F-100 is a frame-off restoration that comes with plenty to offer including a rebuilt 302, C4 transmission, Crown Victoria front suspension, 4-wheel disc brakes, new wood bed, new glass and rubber and new 18-inch wheel and tires.
Mecum writes that an auction highlight includes a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe equipped with a Powerglide transmission, factory air conditioning and radio-delete option. It is the only known matching-numbers 427/400 HP big-block example to ever leave the factory.
