VMAC rolls out underhood, direct-transmission mounted air compressors for Ford, Ram, GM trucks and vans

VMAC continues to expand its line of underhood and direct-transmission mounted air compressors, with new models to fit 2019 trucks and vans.

The compressors are compatible with specific models by Ford, Ram, GM/Chevrolet and Mercedes/Freightliner.

 

Underhood

VMAC’s Underhood series consists of rotary screw air compressors that are, as the name implies, mounted under the hood of a truck or commercial van. They are designed to be light, save space and deliver air at 40 to 140 cubic feet per minute, depending on the model. VMAC is the only company that makes underhood compressors specifically engineered for commercial vans, the company says.

Underhood40 Air Compressor (up to 40 cubic feet per minute) applications for 2019 include:

  • Ford F250 – Ford F350 Super Duty trucks with 6.2-liter V8 gas engines (model V400012)
  • Ford F250 – F550 Super Duty trucks with 6.7L Power Stroke diesel engine (V400011)
  • GM/Chevrolet 2500HD – 3500HD trucks with 6.0L Vortec gas engine(V400007)
  • Ram 2500-5500 trucks with 6.7L Cummins diesel (V400016) (to be released later this year)

 

Underhood40 Van Series (up to 40 CFM):

  • Ford Transit with 3.5L EcoBoost gas engine (V400009)
  • Ford Transit with 3.7L Duratec gas engine (V400014)
  • Ford Transit Connect with 2.5L Duratec gas engine (V400008)
  • GM Savana G Series with 6.0L Vortec gas engine (V400015)
  • Chevrolet Express with 6.0L Vortec gas engine (V400015)
  • Mercedes/Freightliner Sprinter with 3.0L Blue Tec diesel (V400003)

Direct-Transmission Mounted

VMAC launched its first Direct-Transmission Mounted PTO driven air compressor in 2016. In 2018, it introduced the DTM70-H, which produces air and hydraulic power at the same time. This means you can operate small to medium-sized air tools as well as a hydraulic crane or other hydraulic equipment simultaneously.

Direct-Transmission Mounted PTO Driven Air Compressor (up to 70 CFM) applications:

  • Ford F250 – F550 Super Duty with 6.7L Power Stroke diesel (DM00011)
  • Ford F650 – F750 Super Duty with 6.7L Power Stroke diesel (DM00002)

 

Direct-Transmission Mounted PTO Driven Air Compressor (up to 70 CFM, up to 14.9 gallons per minute hydraulic fluid) applications:

  • Ford F250 – F550 Super Duty with 6.7L Power Stroke diesel (DM20011)
