Ram unveils 1500 Copper Sport limited edition, new 2-tone Laramie Longhorn scheme

Updated Apr 10, 2017

Ram has recently added two new attractive hues to its truck lineup. One is exclusive to a limited run of 1500 Sport pickups while the other is the new two-tone paint scheme for its Laramie Longhorn pickups.

The 2017 Ram 1500 Copper Sport is adorned in the truck maker’s new radiant Copper Pearl paint along with polished 22-inch aluminum wheels. The Copper edition follows Ram’s Ignition Orange as the second limited-edition 1500 Sport pickup.

The Copper Sport features a monochromatic exterior paint scheme with a body-color grille. Accents include a performance hood with black decal, a black Ram’s head grille badge, a black tailgate badge and black body-side badges.

Inside the cab, Copper-colored stitching runs throughout a black interior and is complemented by Sport embroidery badging on the seats. A nine-speaker Alpine premium sound system, including subwoofer, rounds out the package.

Ram says only 3,000 Ram 1500 Copper Sports will be produced. The package is offered on Crew Cab HEMI V8 models starting at $45,630, plus a $1,320 destination charge.

Ram is replacing its White Gold two-tone contrast paint scheme on its luxury Laramie Longhorn pickups in favor of a new shade: RV Match Walnut Brown.

Available on all 1500, 2500 and 3500 Ram models, Ram says its Laramie Longhorn package is a “popular choice among buyers who rely on their truck to tow a camper or recreational vehicle,” thanks to the 2500 and 3500 models’ 30,000 pounds of trailering capability. So, Ram says the new paint scheme was “chosen to closely match or complement a shade of brown that is frequently used in the exterior design of RV trailers”.
