In its 2016 Initial Quality Study (IQS), J.D. Power gave the Chevrolet Silverado and Nissan Frontier top marks among pickup trucks.

The Silverado was the top truck in both the full-size and heavy duty categories, while the Frontier was named the top mid-size truck.

Chevrolet led all manufacturers with the most IQS awards across all vehicle categories for the fourth consecutive year.

According to J.D. Power, the IQS “examines problems experienced by vehicle owners during the first 90 days of ownership. Initial quality is determined by the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100), with a lower score reflecting higher quality.”

The study included the responses of more than 80,000 2016 model-year vehicle owners.
