Construction pros have no doubts over 2015 F-150’s durability: aluminum truck’s weight savings outweigh questions over repair costs
Even though the 2015 F-150 first appeared to the world from under a silk sheet, Ford’s unveiling of what could be its most important vehicle in quite some time didn’t hold much in the way of surprises. After all, much of the half-ton truck’s new look had been toured around the country as a concept […]

Ford releases MSRP for F-150
Ford’s integration of aluminum into the construction of its flagship F-150 may have shed upwards of 700 pounds of weight, but it helped add some bulk to the sticker price. Aluminum wasn’t the only driver of costs as Ford added several new standards to its trucks at every trim level. New standard features include a 2.3-inch […]

Displacement Replacement: How the 2015 Ford F-150’s 2.7L EcoBoost packs V8 power into a V6 frame
It wasn’t that long ago a 2.7-liter V6 with a compacted-graphite-iron (CGI) block, twin turbos, reverse-flow cooling, split-mains, variable-displacement oil pump, deep-sump oil pan and direct-injection making 325 horsepower would be something seen only in race circles. POLL: Can aluminum-bodied pickups stand up to the abuse of construction work?
When Ford unveiled the 2015 F-150 and announced that it would have an aluminum body, two of the first questions and criticisms regarding the move were aluminum’s durability and repair cost. Many analysts and customers voiced skepticism that aluminum was a strong enough material to stand up to the abuse many pickups receive. Ford is […]

Why the Ford F-150 is the most American vehicle, period
For the second year in a row, the Ford F-150 has taken the top spot in the annual American-Made Index by Cars.com. The ranking takes into account three factors to determine how “American” cars are, including domestic-parts content (percentage of a vehicle’s parts considered to be “domestic,” meaning built in the U.S. or Canada), final assembly […]

PHOTOS: Guy flips an old Ford F-150 on its head and is driving this upside down truck around Illinois
This has to be the coolest pickup truck modification I can think of in…I don’t know…ever? A couple of weeks ago, Reddit user diddletheskittle posted the image you see below with the simple headline “This car is upside down.” Forgiving Mr. Theskittle that this is obviously a truck, we unfortunately have no other information to […]

Ford has shown aluminum truck bodies don’t rust and may improve gas mileage, but how will they hold up after 30 years?
Ford rocked the automotive world with its decision to use aluminum bodies in pickup trucks starting in 2015. This will cut 700 pounds off the weight of their F-150 trucks and improve fuel economy—an admirable goal. But the automaker has yet to divulge pricing on the aluminum body models and when it comes to the […]
