The Rental Show, 2008– JLG Industries, Inc., an Oshkosh Truck Corporation company [NYSE: OSK] and a leading manufacturer of aerial work platforms and telescopic material handlers will show the JLG® Model 1230ES elevating mast work platform in Booth 6119 at The Rental Show in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 12 – 14, 2008.
Model 1230ES is an electric powered aerial work platform featuring the synergism of JLG™s electric drive system combined with a multiphase hydraulic cylinder to elevate the mast platform. The technology provides an electric powered aerial work platform with the capability of quickly lifting workers for all types of interior work.
The machine has a 12-foot platform height, 500-pound platform capacity and weighs just 1,775 pounds. It stows to a compact 30 inches wide by 65 inches high so it can be moved from floor to floor in most fright elevators. And, with an inside turning radius of only 5 inches, it can be easily maneuvered through confined areas.
The energy saving motors on the front wheels provide up to three times the number of duty cycles versus competitive models and propel the lowered machine up to 3 mph. Power is provided by four 6V, 200 amp-hour batteries. An automatic on-board battery charger is standard.
The hydraulic cylinder provides the power to lift or lower the platform in just 12 seconds. The cylinder™s design reduces the number of fluid connections down to four to eliminate almost all fluid leaks. It is a heavy-duty component designed for a minimum of 30,000 lift cycles before repacking. The steel three-section lifting mast, powered by the multi-stage cylinder, is considered to be maintenance free since there are no chains, cables or rollers to adjust.
Operator features include fully proportional lift and drive using a single joystick, a removable control panel with the same layout as JLG™s electric scissor lifts, a low 22 inch step-in height to the platform and a saloon-style swinging gate for easy entry and exit.
