The Rental Show, 2008 – JLG Industries, Inc., an Oshkosh Truck Corporation company [NYSE: OSK] and a leading manufacturer of aerial work platforms and telescopic material handlers will show the JLG® Model 2630ES scissor lift with a Workstation in the SKY® Electrician™s Package in Booth 6119 at The Rental Show in Las Vegas, Nevada February 12 through February 14, 2008.
The Workstation in the SKY® Electrician™s Package has a stowable bench, a 110V outlet for power tools, specially sized compartments for fasteners and connectors, plus tool holders that will accommodate a reciprocating saw, hammer drill, pipe bender and circular saw. Other Workstation in the SKY® accessories can include a built-in 12V plug to power cordless tool battery chargers, a rail-mounted vise, a pipe rack and a tree that provides a wire spool loom in the platform eliminating ground based wire trees, and allowing wire spools to be fed directly into conduit.
The model 2630ES is the industry™s only 30-inch wide scissor lift with a platform height of 25 feet 6 inches. Part of the five-model ES Series, the machines have front wheel-drive and steering for a zero degree inside turning radius and most models feature 3.5-inch ground clearance so they easily clear doorway thresholds and can be driven onto trailers and rollback trucks. They are equipped with non-marking tires and can be operated inside or out-of-doors. The 263ES has a 25 percent gradeability.
The ES Series scissor lifts feature an electric drive system that uses two independent electric motors for the drive wheels. The drive system provides up to twice the duty cycles than competitors and lower noise levels by eliminating the power loss associated with pumps, hoses and hydraulic motors. Power is provided by four 6V amp-hour batteries and an on-board battery charger is standard.
The scissor lifts also incorporate a unique hydraulic system that combines the hydraulic lift pump, reservoir and motor with the lift cylinder into a single assembly. The design reduces the complexity of the hydraulic system and provides greater reliability by reducing potential leak points and reduced maintenance. The system is comprised of a total of two hoses and four fittings. And, with fewer parts, the machines have a lower operating costs and greater reliability.
For ease of operation, an improved control station permits one-handed control of both the proportional drive and lift functions. The platform deck is manufactured from non-corrosive aluminum with non-skid strips.
