Oklahoma City, OK (January 23, 2008) The new Blastrac® BGS-250 grinder features a compact design with a low horsepower motor for small to medium surface preparation jobs. It is specifically engineered with a high torque value for constant production on almost all flooring types.
The 1.75hp BGS-250 has a 110V, 15Amp motor that allows operators to use the machine indoors with a household electrical circuit. Because the machine has no emissions, it can be used in small, enclosed work sites. The direct drive design has no belts for maintenance ease. The BGS-250 utilizes a 10 diamond disc and beveled segment plugs that are less prone to gauge uneven surfaces such as expansion joints and decorative cuts. A steel dust shroud floats across the floor to maintain dust control, and dust can easily be contained while using the Blastrac® BDC-1216 industrial grade vacuum. A slower RPM head speed allows for diamond blade longevity, and its compact design and weight of 162 pounds makes the BGS-250 a good grinder for the do-it-yourself industry. This grinder features a manual leveling system to maintain even grinding throughout all consumable life.
The BGS-250 is used for concrete cleaning and preparation for overlays and coatings. It can also be used for the removal of mastics, epoxies, urethane, paint and other coatings. It is particularly useful for leveling out high spots and curled joints, including those on tilt-up panels.
Like many Blastrac machines, the BGS-250 is made to be jobsite and environmentally friendly when connected to a Blastrac dust collector. The Blastrac brand provides more surface preparation technologies and expertise than any other manufacturer: shot blasting, grinding, polishing, scarifying, scraping, milling and cutting. Blastrac equipment is designed for surface preparation of concrete, steel, brick, stone, asphalt and other substrates. Equipment and application training is offered through the Blastrac SPARC program: Surface Preparation Academic Resource Center.
