JCB is strengthening its range of JS tracked excavators with the addition of three heavyweight machines.
The 63,945 pound JS290, the 79,380 pound JS360 range topping JS520, which tips the scales at 114,660 pounds will be exhibited at the CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2008 show in Las Vegas in March. The JS290 will bridge the gap between the JS260 and JS330 in the existing line up, with the JS360 completing the range between the JS330 and the JS460. The new JS520, which is being shown at CONEXPO initially as a concept machine, will become the largest model in the JCB line up.
The JS290 will compete in the growing 62,000-73,000 pound sector of the market. The machine features all the hallmarks of JCB™s well proven JS Auto range, the most powerful and efficient excavators that JCB has ever built.
The machines offer best-in-class performance, operator environment and serviceability. Powered by Isuzu six-cylinder Tier III-compliant engines the new excavators combine high productivity with impressive lift capacity and drawbar pull. Comfortable and economical to run, the JS290 is expected to become the clear choice for excavator operators looking for a machine in the
62,000 pound class.
The JS290 offers 6 per cent more engine power, 4 per cent more hydraulic power and 11 per cent higher dipper tearout force than the class average. The slew torque and bucket tearout forces are also best-in-class, at 14 per cent and 19 per cent ahead of the class average respectively.
JCB™s Group Chief Operating Officer Matthew Taylor said: The JS290 is set to raise the bar with its exceptional power and performance. The introduction of this all-new model will strengthen JCB™s position at the forefront of excavator design and spearhead our drive for a significantly increased share of the world market.
