Sterling Introduces Cab Enhancements. New Noise Control Package Offers Up To 25 Percent Quieter Driver Environment

REDFORD, MICH. Sterling Truck Corporation introduced two new enhancements to its cab. The first, a noise control package, features improved sealing and insulation, resulting in an up to 25 percent improvement over previous models. The second is a new door panel.  Both features are available on all Acterra®, Set-Forward L-Line, Set-Back L-Line, and Set-Back A-Line models.

The standard noise control package includes new door seals and updates to other components like engine cover seals, shift boot and steering boot material and construction. The new door weather seal offers improved surface contact, and front wall inter-panel sealing and front wall joints on the floor between the seats have been added, ultimately reducing noise. Plus, a new HVAC condensation pass-through allows water to exit the truck quickly without noise infiltration from the HVAC system. In addition to these standard components, Sterling also offers an optional thermal and premium noise insulation package.

When testing the noise control package, we set aggressive target levels to ensure a noticeable improvement in sound quality.  We™re pleased that this testing resulted in such a substantial reduction, said Richard Shearing, manager of product strategy for Sterling Truck Corporation. LTL and on-highway operators who spend long hours in the cab will particularly appreciate these updates.

In addition to the noise control package, new door panels are now standard. Improved styling and more surface area coverage improve driver usability and give doors a sleek new look.

The new noise control package will be available in early 2008 and updated door panels are available to order now. For more information and to find a dealer near you, visit https://allianceparts.com/sterling/.
