CMiC and Textura Announce Business Alliance That Revolutionizes Construction

Chicago and Toronto – March 11, 2009 – Furthering their mutual dedication to providing the most innovative software tools to increase productivity and lower costs, Textura Corporation and CMiC have formed a business alliance that means the on-line invoicing and payment processing that Textura provides will be embedded seamlessly into the CMiC enterprise software system.

The CMiC – Textura interface delivers import-export functionality that eliminates a general contractor’s need to perform subcontractor invoice data entry. The interface provides bi-directional upgrading, so change orders from CMiC to Textura and subcontractor invoices and payments uploads from CMiC to Textura will be performed effortlessly. All change order and payment information is synchronized between the two systems.

“The current financial crisis makes it even more important for our clients to be as efficient as possible,” said Gord Rawlins, president, CMiC. “Indeed, many construction companies have experienced layoffs which mean fewer staff has to do more and more. We have heard a lot from our customers about Textura’s ability to manage efficiently the subcontractor pay request, lien waiver collection and payment management process. Textura’s sole focus on construction invoicing and payment has allowed them to develop a unique, collaborative offering. Together, CMiC and Textura can bring a new level of real-time capability through the development of an XML interface that leverages CMiC Collaboration Manager.”

“As a long-term CMiC customer, Power is truly excited about the business alliance between CMiC and Textura,” said Dave Anderskow, senior vice president and CFO at Power Construction Company. “Power will be implementing Textura on several upcoming projects and that decision was made easier knowing that the companies were working towards a seamless integrated solution which eliminates our concerns of duplication of effort, inefficient processes and managing data between two systems. The seamless integration of CMiC and Textura is a key step in reaching Power’s goal of becoming 100% paperless and also providing our customers and subcontractors a more efficient and collaborative way of working with our company.”

“When we started marketing Textura it seemed like we were bumping into CMiC clients everywhere,” said Pat Allin, chairman and CEO, Textura. “They were good customer prospects for us as they appreciate technology and know-how to effectively get their organizations to embrace it and make effective use of the capabilities it brings. Once Gord and I got together, not surprisingly, we found a very compatible outlook on the market, technology and the desire to provide what our customers needed. This alliance was an easy step for our organizations but represents a major milestone for our current and future CMiC customers.”

“Over the last five years, we have spoken with many CMiC clients who are very interested in Textura but were concerned about support and integration, because Textura didn’t have a formal relationship with CMiC,” said Allin. “All of those clients, and those who are using Textura and interested in CMiC and vice versa, can be assured by this business alliance. In addition, Textura clients who are interested in upgrading their current software system would be well advised to consider CMiC.”

“We view the establishment of this relationship as consistent with our desire to offer the best technology alternatives to our clients,” said Rawlins. “CMiC encourages all its clients to take a close look at Textura and the advantages that the new interface provides.”
