SAN RAMON, CALIF., August 25, 2011 – Chevron Lubricants, maker of the Delo® brand of technologically advanced engine oils, lubricants and coolants, today unveiled its new Delo Truck at the 2011 Great American Trucking Show in Dallas, TX (booth #8049). The truck will serve as a rolling ambassador for the Delo brand. In exhibit mode, the Delo Truck is 22’ wide and features 19 stations designed to educate customers and the general public on key market issues, Delo technology and the importance of premium performance heavy-duty engine oils, lubricants and coolants. The Delo Truck, which targets both on and off-highway markets, will make appearances at major trade shows, Chevron distributor locations and truck stops around the country.
“Today, the transportation industry faces a number of challenges,” said Doug Hinzie, vice president, Finished Lubricants Americas, Chevron Products Company. “The new Delo Truck provides a modern, engaging and highly mobile platform to discuss these challenges and to demonstrate how Chevron, our distributors and the Delo product family can provide solutions that deliver bottom-line value. This 18-wheeled testament to innovation is a reflection of our ongoing commitment to the industry, technology leadership, our distributors and the Delo brand. It’s a truly unique offering.”
The centerpiece of the Delo Truck is its 19 learning stations – most with interactive displays. Along with detailed information on the Delo product family and the brand’s history, visitors can explore various market topics including maximizing drain intervals, debunking the semi-synthetic myth and interpreting evolving OEM drain recommendations. Various engine parts are also on display for guests to explore.
The Delo Truck, with its stunning graphics, will be pulled by a 2011 Kenworth T700 – recently named the 2011 Heavy Duty Commercial Truck of the Year by the American Truck Dealers. The cab, which features a Paccar MX-455 engine, has received the Environmental Protection Agency SmartWay® program certification. And like all other Paccar trucks, the truck is factory filled with Delo 400 LE SAE 15W-40.
