Rack-and-pinion drive system highlights Vermeer directional drill upgrades

Vermeer’s D24x40 Series II directional drill features a self-contained design layout to ensure optimal manpower efficiency.

A 125-horsepower John Deere diesel engine provides powerful spindle torque for tough drilling conditions, while the rack-and-pinion drive system eliminates the need for chain maintenance and features bolt-on gear sections to simplify replacement demands when compared to welded sections. This drill delivers 4,000 pounds-feet of torque and 24,000 pounds of pullback and thrust.

Also new from Vermeer: the D7x11 Series II directional drill; RT450 and RT650 ride-on trenchers; HG600tx tracked horizontal grinder; and S600 compact utility loaders.
