ConExpo attendees got the first peek at the 742 telehandler, which offers 7,000-pound lift capacity and introduces JLG’s precision gravity lowering system.

The first JLG telehandler with the new lowering system, the 742 uses hydraulic power to raise the boom and gravity to lower it. That gives the operator better control and increases the machine’s efficiency, the company says. JLG will add the gravity lowering system this year to its entire line of telehandlers.

The 742 also comes with a range of powertrain options to suit your worksite needs, and oil-change intervals can be extended to 1,000 hours. JLG added cab room, an intuitive joy stick and integrated armrest. Visibility was also improved.

To improve operator confidence in tough environments, the 742 comes with rear axle stabilization (RAS) that automatically switches from a three-point to a four-point stance. The machine also comes with an optional reverse sensing system, reverse camera and a variety of attachments.
