One Texas lawmaker wants to make sure he and his colleagues have a say in how the economic stimulus package money is distributed, telling the Texas Transportation Commission that the thought of the TTC approving $2.3 billion in projects next week “staggering.” This is a story that will likely be repeated in most states as legislatures try to make sure such high sums are distributed “prudently” — i. e. with their imprint all over it.
