Atlas Copco Construction Tools has reorganized its operation in Essen, Germany. The Essen facility will focus on medium and heavy hydraulic hammers and silent demolition tools. Small hydraulic hammers will be concentrated in the Kalmar factory in Sweden, while handheld pneumatic tools will be produced in Kalmar and in Pune, India. Warehousing and distribution will be consolidated to Atlas Copco’s Power Tools distribution center in Belgium. The reorganization is slated to be fully implemented by autumn 2004.
