The construction industry’s battery-powered tool offerings are always expanding, and that means more options than ever to upgrade and swap your daily toolkit.
In this report, we’ll look at eight battery-powered tools that caught our eyes.
But first, here are some things to consider when choosing a new battery-powered tool:
- Battery brand/ecosystem: It may seem obvious, but you should consider whether you're willing to step outside your familiar battery ecosystem for a new tool. How good does a competing power tool manufacturer’s product need to be before you’re willing to take on a whole new battery system?
- Battery performance: With the appropriate battery, consider the day-to-day use this tool might see. How long until it overheats on your average jobsite? How quickly will that battery charge, and how many batteries will you need?
- Ease-of-use and comfort: A long day of using any tool can be exhausting in different ways. Consider whether the tool has anti-vibration tech, how awkward it might be to handle overhead and how the grip design would impact daily use.
- Corded vs. cordless: There are pros and cons to consider when making the jump from a corded to a cordless version of any given tool. Working with a battery-powered nailer versus a corded nailer, for example, means vastly improved mobility and flexibility on the jobsite. However, that cordless version will be heavier, more expensive and possibly less powerful.
- Gas-powered vs. battery-powered: Another switch contractors might make is the jump from gas-powered to battery-powered. This, again, gives you better mobility, less noise, instant power, lower emissions and lower fuel costs. However, that day-to-day output might be lower overall than the gas-powered equivalent.
Maybe you’re unhappy with your current battery system and want to try a competitor, or maybe your cut-off saw is simply wearing out. Either way, here are a few battery-powered tool options to consider in 2026, including some options Equipment World encountered at World of Concrete 2026:
DeWalt
DeWalt POWERSHIFT 1-1/8-inch Hex Demo Hammer Kit
For those needing to bust through concrete, there’s DeWalt’s new DCPS966AG2 1-1/8-inch, hex demolition hammer. Built on an all-metal housing and barrel, the new hammer offers 45 joules of impact energy, though vibration has been reduced by 20% through DeWalt’s Shocks Active Vibration Control, resulting in less user fatigue.

Bosch
Bosch Expert 18V Battery Platform
Bosch unveiled its new high-power Expert 18V battery platform, available in 4Ah, 6Ah, 8Ah and 15Ah battery packs. On the 4Ah and 8Ah packs, Bosch included tab-less cell technology for cooler operation, while the 15Ah has three layers of high-power, 21700 5Ah cells.

Makita 40V max XGT 8.0Ah high power BL4080H
From Makita, contractors now have Makita’s new tab-less battery pack: the 40V max XGT 8.0Ah high power BL4080H. It delivers 35% more power compared to Makita’s BL4080F battery pack and runs 32% cooler, the company says.

Bosch
Bosch’s New GBR18V-15S 5-inch Concrete Surface Grinder
Another new offering in 2026 from Bosch, the GBR18V-15S 5-inch concrete surface grinder offers the equivalent of up to 13 amps of corded power. Contractors also get enhanced dust control, a low grinding profile, variable speed for smoother surface prep and an adjustable dust shroud for hard-to-reach areas.

Milwaukee
Milwaukee Bolt Redlithium USB Cooling Fan
The most unique item in Milwaukee’s booth at this year’s World of Concrete show was the new Bolt Redlithium USB cooling fan for hard hats. It generates 15 mph air speed with a USB 3.0 battery offering 6 hours of runtime. The fan is attached via Milwaukee’s Bolt front and rear hardhat mounting slot and can customize airflow with the three included air duct variations.

Arbortech
Arbortech Allsaw BA200X Restoration Tool
Sometimes you need to quickly cut through tough surfaces and obstacles. For a more unique tool to tackle that, there’s Arbortech’s new Allsaw BA200X restoration tool.
The BA200X uses Arbortech’s proprietary orbital cutting action with dual reciprocating blades for optimal cutting through materials including tree roots, cinderblocks, mortar, asphalt and masonry. That unique action also reduces airborne dust and can cut to a depth of 4.75 inches.
Powered by the Dewalt Flexvolt system, the tool operates on 60V max battery power and is rated at 5,200 rpm. Contractors will also benefit from a Quick Switch Blade system and adjustable rubber grip for improved handling.

Ridgid
Ridgid 18V Nuke Subcompact Brushless Oscillating Multi-Tool
One of the latest battery-powered releases from Ridgid is the 18V Nuke Subcompact Multi-Tool. Sold only through Home Depot, this upgraded model offers 45% faster cutting at up to 20,000 oscillations per minute.
Compared to previous versions, the multi-tool is 10% more compact. Contractors have a three-speed selector, variable speed trigger, brushless motor and can swap accessories tool-free.

EGO Power
For the contractor committed to the EGO Power battery ecosystem, consider the OEM’s new 700W turbo charger.
Boasting an intelligent battery control system that monitors each cell’s charge and temperature, EGO says this new charger delivers the quickest and most efficient charge. Overheating is managed by an active cooling fan system while EGO 56V ARC Lithium batteries are charged.
