The Alaskaug line of pin-on augers were originally developed to drill through Alaskan tundra, and now Auger Technologies is making them available for a variety of surfaces.
The augers for digger derricks or production type diggers can be configured with different teeth and pilot bits to handle such conditions as 41-inch concrete block, gravel or dirt. They can be used for foundation drilling, utilities, water wells and oil and gas exploration, the company says.
Two different style cutter heads are available. The cutter heads consist of heat-treated cast steel and are interchangeable. Flighting diameters range from 8 to 36 inches and either 2 1/2- or 2 5/8-inch cast steel male hex connection.
