Doosan Infracore North America’s DX42-5K and the DX50-5K compact excavators are new entries in the 4-to-5-metric ton class, with features designed to increase machine performance, versatility, operator comfort and reliability.

Aimed at customers in the commercial, residential, landscaping and utility markets, the models feature a new dual-flange track roller system that works in tandem with an enhanced counterweight for better over-the-side digging and lifting capabilities, Doosan says.

Powered by a 3-cylinder Doosan diesel, the models use a more durable design on the dozer blade’s top edge to give it added strength. To counter material build up on the blade and improve debris shedding, the blade and frame are designed with an angled top and rounded edges. An angle blade is an option for both models.

Repositioned, easy-to-reach auxiliary hydraulic couplers are now located on the arm, helping reduce the time needed to connect the hydraulic hoses. A new clamp diverter valve option allows operators to quickly connect another attachment without disconnecting the hydraulic clamp hoses.

An enclosed, air-conditioned cab is standard; an optional canopy is available. The models also offer taller and wider windows for better visibility, and foldable pedals give additional foot room. New joystick buttons provide hands-on control functions.

Operators can monitor and troubleshoot with additional data on the 5-inch display panel. The models also have an optional integrated rearview camera for all-around visibility.

In addition, an integrated lift eye allows for easier craning and lifting, giving operators the option to remove the bucket when lifting to maximize capacity.

Four new tie-downs — for a total of six — provide extra security during transport. For additional dig depth and reach, a long-arm option is available.

Customers can bundle a quick coupler, bucket and clamp in an attachment package. Other available attachments include a wedge lock coupler, heavy-duty bucket and hydraulic clamp.
