Loftness Kwik-Trim

Loftness has released the latest version of the Kwik-Trim compact mechanical tree trimmer, a great tool for simplifying right-of-way maintenance.

The Tier 4 final-compliant unit has an upgraded chassis and powertrain for more horsepower, increased stability and easier maintenance than the previous version of the Kwik-Trim. The 47.6-horsepower diesel engine requires no diesel exhaust fluid and provides improved fuel efficiency.

At 800 pounds heavier, 7 inches wider and 7 inches longer than the previous model, the new unit offers additional stability on difficult terrain, while remaining compact enough to access confined jobsites and towed behind a pickup. A hose reel mount eliminates the need for external boom support during transport, further simplifying towing.

A fiberglass-reinforced plastic boom telescopes to 53 feet, with a 24-inch carbide tipped saw blade that operates at 3,000 rpm situated at the end. The operator can make precise boom adjustments from the cab via an advanced hydraulic system.

To access hydraulic components, the operator is no longer required to tilt the cab. The winch has also been moved to a convenient location at the front center of the machine, and has its own hydraulic circuit enabling operation from inside the cab. The cab is climate-controlled, and also meets ROPS, FOPS and OPS certification.
