Miller Electric, manufacturer of arc welders and plasma cutters, will be featured on Discovery Channel’s hit show American Chopper Feb. 9 and 16 at 10 p.m. EST.
To commemorate the company’s 75th anniversary, a two-part episode will focus on arc welding when the Orange County Choppers design and build the “Miller Bike.” Painted red, white and blue, the bike has a “Welding America” theme complete with a welding helmet morphing out of the gas tank, a mirror embedded in a MIG gun, and a welding machine towed behind.
Originally Miller had asked OCC to develop a 75th anniversary design for a new auto-darkening welding helmet, but instead, OCC offered to build a bike.
“Helmet? We want to build a bike. We always wanted to build a welding bike,” said OCC chief designer Paul Teutul.
