John Deere 9460R, 9510R, 9560R, 9460RT, 9510RT, 9560RT round out Scraper Special series tractor line

Originally introduced in 2011, the John Deere 9R/9RT Scraper Special series tractors provide contractors improved productivity, increased uptime, and lower daily operating costs on the jobsite. The series includes three track models – the 9460RT, 9510RT and 9560RT – as well as three wheeled models – the 9460R, 9510R and 9560R. All are equipped with a fuel-efficient, high-torque IT4 13.5L PowerTech PSX engine capable of 460 to 560 horsepower.

All 9R/9RT series tractors also feature the CommandView II cab, which provides easy-to-use fingertip controls and excellent visibility while offering a 10% increase in overall cab volume, seven percent more glass area, and four times more storage area over John Deere’s previous CommandView cab. Creature comforts such as cup holders, power outlets, and cell phone storage are also part of the updated cab.

Controls for the Scraper Special series are accessible through the CommandARM, which offers a 7-inch color CommandCenter display and easy access to key tractor functions such as throttle, transmission speech and direction and selective control valves. An optional touch-screen capable GreenStar (GS3) CommandCenter display allows for additional adjustments and configurations.

In an effort to lower daily operating costs, the John Deere Powershift transmission with Efficiency Manager is standard on all 9R/9RT Scraper Special tractors. This transmission allows the tractor to operate at an optimal performance level while minimizing fuel consumption, accomplished through continuous communication between the engine and transmission.

Serviceability is a key feature of the John Deere 9R/9RT Scraper Special series, with a common hydraulic/transmission/axle oil reservoir to reduce service checkpoints and improve oil level management in all conditions. The JDLink system is also available on the 9R/9RT series, allowing fleet managers, owners, and operators to track machines on multiple jobsites, monitor preventative maintenance schedules and even remotely diagnose problems. Additional features include enhanced fender coverage and an upgraded frame, chassis and axles, as well as a standard tow cable.

The 9R series wheel tractors offer expanded service intervals due to the addition of a second hydraulic oil filter, allowing 1,500 hours between maintenance cycles. In addition, a carefully designed three-section frame, improved wheel attachment and specialized axle lubrication system all allow the machines more efficiently in harsh environments with greater reliability and reduced maintenance.

The 9RT series track tractors are equipped with 30-inch-wide Durabilit 5500 series scraper rubber tracks. The four-ply tracks are enhanced with a heavy-duty main cable and optimized for puncture resistance. The tractors also feature the fully automatic AirCushion suspension system, which isolates the entire front chassis when operating on uneven terrain and provides increased operator comfort.
