With dealers’ help, Kubota will further support “farmer veterans” with product discounts

Kubota Tractor Corporation has stepped up to the next level in its continuing support of veterans who farm – and who give back to their communities in various ways.

In partnership with the Farmer Veteran Coalition (FVC), Kubota, which has given away tractors to some deserving veterans, is now providing additional support for the non-profit’s farmer-veteran members by offering them customer rebates on select Kubota equipment.

The discount program rebates will be honored at all 1,100 authorized-Kubota dealerships nationwide. Discount rebates range from $100 to $500 across various product lines, and they are in addition to most current Kubota promotions, the company says.

Bridgestone expands OTR tire production with $12M infusion to Ill. plant

Bridgestone says its Bloomington, Illinois, tire plant will soon be expanded to support the manufacturing of more off-the-road tires for mining and construction.

The planned $12 million investment into the facility will add the production of multiple sizes and patters in 29-, 33- and 35-inch OTR tires, the company says, adding that these tires have until now only been manufactured by Bridgestone in Japan.

Liebherr USA breaks ground on new Virginia HQ

German heavy equipment maker Liebherr’s U.S. division has broken ground on an expansion to its Newport News, Virginia, campus that will serve as the company’s new corporate headquarters.

During a groundbreaking ceremony Friday, members of the Liebherr family were joined by Liebherr USA executive management and Newport News city officials to celebrate the beginning of construction on a $45 million expansion project that will add three new buildings and increase the size of the Virginia campus by 40 percent to more than 800,000 square feet.

Tornado rips through Vermeer factory in Iowa, dealing major damage and injuring at least 7 (VIDEO)

Vermeer Corporation sustained major damage after several tornadoes went through central Iowa on Thursday, reports the Des Moines Register.

The tornado hit around 4:15 p.m., and according to Pella police Lt. Shane Cox, there were several people who sustained minor injuries as the result of the storm. Vince Newendorp, speaking for Vermeer, said the east side of Vermeer’s manufacturing facility sustained the most damage.
